What is happening?  Craft and games, hot lunch, all free. 

When?  10am – 2pm on Tuesday 21st December 

Where? Lonsdale Rd Methodist Hall, Lonsdale Rd, Elmbridge, GL2 0TA 

For?  Children of any age accompanied by their parent(s) or appropriate adult.

Clothes 

Please come dressed in play clothes, we do not anticipate activities will be messy, but we may have fun with paint, bubbles, and other gungy substances.  The space will be well ventilated so please dress in layers and bring a warm jumper.    

What we will do

  • We will have a range of craft, play activities and traditional games.  This will include lots of running around in our main hall.  
  • Family members/carers are encouraged to attend with participants.  This is a family stay and play. children must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.  
  • We will be encouraging children and families to gain confidence with food by helping to prepare our lunch and snacks.   
  • We will have a separate space for babbies and toddlers with age-appropriate toys and activities.    
  • There will be quiet space available for children who may need a calming environment. 
  • Frozen meals and picnic bags will be available for families to take away

Food preparation

Our lunch and snacks will be prepared in a community kitchen with help from our participants.  Children and families will be supervised and supported to take part.  If any of your party attending this event has any allergies or food intolerances, please contact us prior to the event.  We are using a community space and kitchen to prepare and cook food so cannot guarantee freedom from allergens.  We are happy to make arrangements to meet specific needs.

Access 

  • The building is accessible to those who use wheelchairs or need mobility support.  There are accessible toilets. 
  • We aim to welcome children and young people with SEND, so please contact us if you would like further information on how we will be able to work to meet your child’s needs so that they can experience the fun of Winter HAF.

Do I need to sign up everyone in the family who is coming, or just my child or young person? 

We would like to know who is coming e.g school children, younger siblings, one or both parents, so that we can ensure that there is enough food, seating and craft materials.  We will serve snacks and lunch for all attending this event.  

My family does not celebrate Christmas: can we still come? 

Yes.  There will be crafts and stories that refer to Christmas, but we aim to welcome and respect families from all backgrounds.
